Dr. Athanase Lavidas
Born in Athens, Dr. Athanase Lavidas took helm of the family business in 1976 and he is today Executive Chairman of Lavipharm Group. He is actively involved in a variety of professional organizations where he holds key positions; he is Chairman of the Greece-United States Business Council and board member of many bilateral councils, whose mission is to strengthen the business ties between Greece and the respective countries. He is also Chairman Emeritus of the Hellenic Entrepreneurs Association (E.EN.E.). He has been a Member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Federation of Entreprises (SEV) for more 12 years, chargé for International Affairs. In 2011, he was awarded the Chevalier insignia in the French National Order of the Legion d’ Honneur by the French government as a recognition of his contribution to the promotion of the dialogue and cooperation between the two countries. Dr. Lavidas has also served as a Director of the Board of Ariad Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company based in Boston and listed on Nasdaq. Moreover, he is an Honorary 49er of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organisation), Intercontinental Chapter. He holds a B.Sc. in Organic Chemistry and a M.Sc. in Physical Chemistry from the Ludwig Maximillan University, Munich, a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Athens and a MBA of the Institut Supérieur de Marketing et de Management in Paris (MBA).
Hon. Chief Scientific Officer
Born in Athens, he holds a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from the University of Athens and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Thessalonica. He started his career as Planning & Projects Manager with MINERVA Pharmaceuticals. He joined Lavipharm in 1979 as Plant and Technical Director and set up the production unit for pharmaceutical & cosmetic Products. In 1987 he set up the Research & Development Department. He is currently the Executive Vice President for Corporate Research & Innovation.
Chief Operating Officer & Country Manager
Born in Piraeus, he holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science & Engineering from La Verne University, California, U.S.A.. He started his carreer in 1996 at Boehringer Ingelheim Hellas as a Medical Representative, he then became Head of the CRM & Business Planning Department, and at a young age he was promoted to Sales Manager. In 2008, he moved to Faran as Marketing and Sales Manager, and from 2012 until joining Lavipharm he was the General Manager of Angelini Pharma Hellas.
Born in Athens, he holds a degree in Economics from the University of Athens, an MSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of London, UK and an MBA from the University of Indianapolis, USA. He has extensive experience in large Greek and multinational companies, such as Papaellinas Group, the ESHA Hellas, the Technical Olympic Group, the Boutari Group, and last in Halyvourgiki SA, where he held the position of Finance Director.
